If I ever become famos I won't let any of my photos be photo shoped. I would want the world to see me as te true me. Not some fake.

Of course it should not be banned! we have too much Government censorship now. Yet honesty in advertising is also very important. why not allow it but require it to be signed modified by artist name and list of modifications done. just like we have labels on food. give them the freedom too artistically do what ever they want but require disclosure.

I suspect most people have that initial knee-jerk reaction and would love to see photoshopped work banned; after all, if the image is not real then a new impossible standard for beauty is set. On the other hand, banning photoshop is short of making it illegal which is simply not in the cards in this country. There should be greater awareness that 99.9 percent of all magazine shots are shopped. People will still buy them, but not heed the urge to compete with the unreal.

She looks better before the retouching. I'm glad that now I am in a place where I appreciate reality more than a fantasy which isn't very attractive when it comes down to it.

I've use Photoshop to tweak some of the picture's I've taken. I used photoshop to tweak my wedding photo's. got rid of sunspots, glare from candles, shine off my forehead. I don't know how to "push the skin in" like he did but I would if I did. In other words, No banning retouching is not a good idea. Everyone does it, not just the guys who do it for the mags.

To ban retouching because it's unattainable would mean you would have to ban hand drawn art because it can be unattainable too. Do you believe the paintings of our ancestors are 100% accurate? Art is not the mirror/window of reality, never was and never will be. Technology has changed the stage but the show is still the same.

Most "models" don't need it. But no, it shouldn't be banned. Just put a little disclaimer/footnote type message at the bottom of each doctored image. I think that's fair to both reader & model alike.

i think thats a bad statement. as a guy, i can see how the media affects girls from the outside and how they have many false ideas of what guys want. also, younger kids arent aware of how far reaching visual enhancing in media is today since they were born into this. i got two young cousins and its not a comfortable thought that they might take this crap as fact if they dont know better.

i think it's absolutely okei to retouch a photo, it's for people to get inspired of wat they can be if they eat right kind food and take proper exercise, as long as they feel beautiful and not irritated its okei..

To answer the question at hand, "Should retouching be banned?" Absolutely not. If a "regular" person wants perfection, we have to eat right and work out, period. You'll never get perfection, but maybe that wasnt meant to be. We cant all be a celebrity.
