I understand women have a high expectation of image and things like that. But if they're simply realize that genetics play the biggest role and that it's not them, they'd be happier.

I totally agree with that young women do not realize that photos are being edited. I myself use photoshop to manipulate photos, but I had no clue the extent, both in depth and frequency that magazines and other media retouch photos. I hope this reality becomes more well known for other young women so they can find out the reality of the look of stars.

I did'nt know that most pictures were retouched.That is Just crazy. I love magazines i have a ton of them and i never really realize that. But once i seen a picture and my magazine that was not retouched the person had a pimple.

i think thats a bad statement. as a guy, i can see how the media affects girls from the outside and how they have many false ideas of what guys want. also, younger kids arent aware of how far reaching visual enhancing in media is today since they were born into this. i got two young cousins and its not a comfortable thought that they might take this crap as fact if they dont know better.

i think it's absolutely okei to retouch a photo, it's for people to get inspired of wat they can be if they eat right kind food and take proper exercise, as long as they feel beautiful and not irritated its okei..

Very interesting – learned a new technique. I find it funny/sad that it used to be if it was a picture, it was the truth. That is no longer the case even in landscape photography.

There's nothing wrong with retouching pictures. What's wrong is with people not being critical thinkers and assuming that celebrities are setting a standard for how we all should look and act.

If ANYONE thought that images were not retouched you are seriously behind in the modern technological age we live in currently. Speaking as a graphic designer, there is VERY little that can't be changed or adjusted to "improve" an image. Using the term "improve" very carefully. With regards to banning it, give me a break…seriously.

or "E!" media..it's your own fault for not accepting yourself. The world will always show you what's fake for the sake of not being truthful.

Although I agree an outright ban is unrealistic, I think people overlook how being bombarded with these images constantly effects the population on a subconscious level. It's a nice thought to say just ignore it, but so long as you're interacting with people exposed to it, the unrealistic standard is being applied to you whether you're conscious of it or not.

I challenge the women in these videos no to put on makeup during this video. Its the same thing. As a designer, we are paid to put on a "digital makeup" for our clients. If its the wish of the ppl that are starred in the magazine to be retouched, who should argue? Its the image that they want to pursue,

spelling errors, grammatical errors, and general dumbness.

We do have a "writershop" it's called "spellcheck"

if you take away re-touching to achieve a more natural look then whats to say that we shouldn't take away the lighting, make-up and hair stylist from photo shoots too? It's all part of the process to get the perfect picture.I think most people realise that the majority of photos are re-touched, print and film is media not reality.
